Towson's Café Troia is moving
Café Troia, a longtime Towson mainstay, is on the move. But it's
not

going far—just across the street (31 W. Allegheny Ave.) to an
expanded two-level space that will increase its seating
capacity from 100 to about 130. Plans call for three
dining rooms, a bar, outdoor
deck, and patio tables in the front. Construction also
includes a new state-of-the-art kitchen that will allow
the restaurant to continue
serving favorite Italian dishes plus an expanded menu.
Carol Troia,
co-owner of the restaurant with her daughter Lisa, says
they're
hoping for a September opening.

Harris Teeter in Columbia (8620 Guilford Road, 410-290-5902), the region scored
a frugal foodie's dream: a luxury food store minus the sky-high price tags.
One part traditional grocery store, one part European-style, fresh-foods market,
Harris Teeter's 55,000 square feet are chock-full of everyday staples alongside
epicurean treats. The North Carolina-based chain is expected to open a Rockville
location this month. It also is planning to open a Federal Hill store sometime
in 2011.
